    I have worked in health and social care for 12 years, starting as a Support Worker whilst at university. Since then I have worked up through management, becoming a Registered Manager, Area Manager and Business Manager. I joined Sequence Care Group in January 2016 and when Progress Housing was acquired in January 2017, I became the Director and responsible individual, overseeing the operations and integration of the business into the larger group.

    I have worked in the care industry for 19 years, previously working as a Registered Manager and Regional Manager. Managing care homes has given me experience with adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities, adults on the autism spectrum as well as people with dual and complex needs. Providing quality care that empowers individuals is our primary aim at Sequence Care Group.

    I have worked as a Trainer, a Project Manager with people with HIV, disadvantaged young people and asylum seekers, ex-offenders and then in 1997 I started working in the field of learning disability as a Support Worker. I have undertaken many roles in the care industry since then, including being a Registered Manager in residential and supported living settings. I regularly volunteer for various charities and when I am not doing any social work, I usually find refuge in my garden, my workshop, or my kitchen baking some macarons!

    I began working for Sequence Care Group in 2015 and manage all aspects of sales and marketing. My career in social care spans 30 years and I’ve held a number of senior positions including Operational Manager for Sense supporting 11 services across London and the South East and Registered Manager of a service for people with complex learning needs. I specialise in training risk management, staff development, mentoring and care planning and provide support for numerous professionals and organisations as well as lecturing in social care. My qualifications include Advanced DMS (Level 7), Qualified Behaviour Analyst through the IABA, non-crisis intervention trainer, registered manager’s award level 4 and NVQ level 4 in Care and NVQ assessor award.

    I’ve been working at Sequence Care Group for 2 years and I coordinate much of the referral process, ensuring all client information is treated sensitively and in a confidential manner. I liaise with external bodies to gather further information and to provide information on what we do in our services. I organise and oversee the referrals on our database, and ensure all documentation, offers of placement and funding agreements are in place and paperwork is completed for all admissions.

    I have been involved with sequence for a number of years. I have held a few positions during my time with the organization including senior support worker, deputy manager, and Registered manager. At the moment I’m the training manager responsible for co-ordinating and delivering the training to existing staff and new staff that join the organization also the development of staff in terms of their career progression i also work closely with the multi disciplinary team.
 

Therapeutic Services


We take a holistic approach to the assessment, treatment and interventions needed to support each individual and our Therapeutic team are central to ensuring positive outcomes for each person. Our team includes Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists as well as other Therapists. We have a dedicated Mental Health Manager who coordinates and oversees our compliance with the Mental Health Act, the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Standards. The Therapeutic team are on hand at each of our care homes to work alongside our staff teams focusing on delivering excellent standards and exceptional care and support. The staff teams ensure each person can achieve their full potential and that lengths of placements are no longer than necessary.

    I am the Occupational Therapy Lead for Sequence Care Group. My team and I are here to help carry out activities that service users want to do and/or need to do. We help each person find ways to carry on living the life that they want to and to remain as independent as possible. We support the service users to maintain, regain and develop their functional level despite difficulties that they may face.

    I have had a varied career working with typically developing and learning disabled children and adults who also have a diagnosis of Autism and/or Psychosis. My experience spans both the NHS and private sectors. I am dysphagia trained with a number of years’ experience in assessment and treatment plan development. I am experienced in setting up and developing Speech and Language Therapy services and providing training for staff. I have a keen focus on person-centred service delivery and multidisciplinary working. Currently I’m studying for an MA in Autism studies as well as training to become an Intensive interaction co-ordinator.
    Additional training: Cervical Auscultation, PROMPT Therapy, Makaton, PECS, TEACCH, ABA, British Sign Language, ADOS, PROACT SKIPr. Member of the RCSLT and Specific Learning Difficulties (SPLD) SIG, ASD, AAC, Dysphagia and LD CEN. HCPC Registered.

    I am the behaviour analyst that supports Sequence Care Group’s use of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). PBS is a way of supporting individuals with behaviours that challenges with components including person-centred planning, including relevant stakeholders, assessment based intervention, positive behaviour support plans, reduction in aversive/restrictive/punishment approaches, emphasis on skills building, staff development, environmental re-design and systems change. I work across all of our services helping all of our team to work in the most effective way possible to meet all facets of the PBS Competency Framework. We have five Positive Behaviour Support Assistants that work in our services whose roles are to assess the function of behaviour, write PBS plans and to work with staff to reduce challenging behaviour and increase quality of life. BA, MSc, Board Certified Behaviour Analyst.

    I’ve been working in social care for 5 years and specialise in providing person-centred care to adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, with experience in the NHS and private sector. I have additional training in: Positive Behavioural Support coaching; Talking Mats and Makaton and Intensive Interaction. I am also in the process of becoming a licenced Makaton regional trainer. Registered member of HCPC, RCSLT and BILD.

    I am an Assistant Speech and Language Therapist with experience working within the Health and Social Care sector since 2011. I have provided support to children and adults with autism, learning disabilities and mental health needs as a Support Worker, Therapy Assistant and SEN Teaching Assistant. My responsibilities have included 1:1 and group interventions, organising events, staff training and supervision.

Progress Housing


Progress Housing is part of the Sequence Care Group and provides care homes for adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and associated complex needs. We have three residential care homes located in the seaside town of Worthing, West Sussex.

The residential care homes are all fully wheelchair accessible and are adapted to make them accessible for wheelchair users. They all include passenger lifts, lowered food preparation areas, lowered light switches, accessible nurse call services and overheard hoists. Each bedroom has full en-suite facilities and there are accessible gardens. The homes are all located in residential areas and are within easy, level walking distance of the town centre and seafront.

    I’ve worked in the health and social care sector for 12 years now and I have been lucky to meet many wonderful people throughout my career. My career path started off as a Support Worker, working in a respite unit for people with learning and physical disabilities. I knew right from the start that this was the career path for me. I went on to work as a Senior Support Worker, and from there progressed to Team Leader and then a Registered Manager. I managed a home for 5 adults with learning disabilities, autism and behaviours that may challenge. I’ve been the Area Manager for Progress Housing for 3 years.
