Set in the heart of a residential community in the London Borough of Greenwich, Meridian Court will provide specialist supported living services for people with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
We continually evaluate our support model and in doing so look for opportunities to respond to people’s need as they evolve. This evaluation has now resulted in the new development of our supported living development which is being registered with CQC and taking referrals.
Meridian Court has been developed to create five contemporary supported living studio rooms. Each studio room has its own front door and been designed to create a comfortable, safe and personal home for people with complex and challenging needs.
Individuals will have the option of having the room furnished or unfurnished should individuals want to bring their own furniture. Tenancy agreements will be placed and ‘easy-read’ or audio versions will be available for tenants who require them.
We will provide an enhanced support infrastructure that includes all multi-disciplinary team elements. Individuals can purchase specialised support from within our therapeutic team in addition to the very skilled staff support available.
With the intensive support available individuals can positively address challenges within their lives and build their skills, confidence, self-esteem and social independence. It is likely to be important to create structure and pattern to each individual’s life, as people with a learning, mental health needs or Autism often require a very clearly defined structure that helps them maximise opportunities on a daily basis. Support provided will help individuals to carefully consider and create a daily structure where required.
All tenants will be empowered to be at the centre of plans and decisions within their lives. Working with support, their needs, wishes and aspirations will be captured and formed into a person-centred plan that directs the input they receive. Where individuals require specialist support in relation to their communication our Speech and Language team will develop an ‘easy-read’ version or other personalised means of presenting their plans.
