Our Specialist Residential services are located in the heart of the community to provide homely environments for individuals with Learning disabilities.

Individuals referred to us are moving on from Children’s Residential and Young People’s services, from hospital services (either on S117 or CTO) or from other residential placements that are breaking down because more support is required.

The services are all fitted and furnished to a very high standard with en-suite rooms throughout. There are mini kitchens in studio bedrooms to support skill building and communal kitchens, lounges and dining areas which help to create a social, homely environment. A number of the houses also have self-contained flats which are ideal training accommodation for individuals to build greater coping mechanisms, self-help skills and independence, prior to moving on to supported living and their own accommodation.

We support individuals to develop a sense of self, grow confidence in their abilities, develop coping mechanisms to manage difficult situations in their lives and skill build to enable an improved quality of life and greater future independence.

We are part of the community and therefore benefit from access to the use of all local amenities including, colleges, work placement and employment opportunities, leisure facilities, sports clubs and social support groups.

We want to ensure that local services support local people and therefore our services are located within 20 minutes travel-time of the majority of families, involved professionals and placing authorities of those we are supporting. Our service users therefore benefit from high levels of input from their circles of support.

All of our staff are fully trained and provide compassionate and thoughtful support. We are knowledgeable in supporting people with Learning disabilities, Autism and Asperger’s, Mental health needs and individuals whose behaviours may challenge services. Our team’s range of experience, skills and attributes, ensures we support the diverse needs of those in our services.

The staff and individuals we support also have access to the expertise of our Multi Disciplinary team of Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Mental Health and Learning disability Nurses, Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychologists and other Therapists. This enables us to provide a unique fully holistic service to those we support and enables us to develop a Care Pathway to support people to move on to live more independently in the future.
